Basic Life Insurance
In the event of a premature death, the surviving relatives of the deceased are faced with many challenges. Dependent family members may need financial support to pay for funeral expenses, outstanding debts and income tax. Life Insurance is designed to provide a tax-free lump sum of cash at the time of death. Coverage is available without providing medical evidence of good health. There is no termination age for this benefit as long as you continue as an active employee. Upon termination (prior to age 60), coverage can be converted to an individual policy without providing medical evidence of good health.
Up to two times of your annual earnings.
Maximum benefit $850,000.
Voluntary Life Insurance
Through the HortProtect Group Insurance plan, owners and employees can purchase additional coverage to protect their business and their families from creditors or to provide a long term income for their loved ones. The coverage is inexpensive and portable. Life insurance can be a unique and valuable financial planning tool.
Basic & Voluntary Death & Dismemberment
This benefit applies to employees and their families. Should you lose your life due to an accident, your beneficiary will receive this tax-free benefit in addition to Life Insurance. As well, if you suffer a paralysis, loss or loss of use of a body part a percentage of your principal sum will be paid to you. There are additional coverages included within this benefit to help pay for unforeseen expenses due to an accidental injury.
Up to two times Basic Life Insurance (four times if paralysis)

In addition to a full schedule of losses, the AD&D benefit includes the benefits outlined in the table below.
Voluntary AD&D Insurance (Up to an additional $250,000 without evidence of insurability).
This is an optional benefit available to owners and their regular employees. Also known as Weekly Indemnity, this benefit provides you with a weekly income when unable to work because of sickness or injury.
To receive this benefit you need not be confined at home or in a hospital but must be unable to perform your regular work and be under the continual care of a doctor. Companies that implement this program may be eligible for an E.I. premium reduction.

What would happen to the current lifestyle you and your family have become used to?This Long Term Disability plan is provided without submitting medical evidence of good health and covers you 24-hours a day. If you were to become totally disabled, a monthly income is provided, based on your age and annual earnings. There is a cost of living adjustment annually and coverage for laid off employees can be continued (optional).
Extended Health Care
Extended Health Coverage (also known as Major Medical) is an important non-taxable employee benefit provided without submitting medical evidence of good health.
This benefit provides a wide range of coverage to pay for procedures and expenses not covered by the provincial health care programs such as prescription drugs, out-of-country medical emergency, semi-private hospital, ambulance, professional services (i.e. chiropractor), and many others.
The CNLA plan offers a basic plan with a number of plan design options. These options allow the employer to provide coverage that suits the company's budget without compromising on quality care.
The Dental group insurance approach provides employees with a non-taxable benefit to lessen the burden of dental expenses. Like the Health Care Plan the Dental Plan can be designed by the employer to meet the company's budget. A much appreciated benefit, a dental plan can help to attract, retain and motivate employees.
This is another non-taxable benefit for employees. A Vision Care Plan is designed to reimburse expenses for glasses, contact lenses and laser eye surgery to a maximum amount every two years.
Annual eye exam coverage is also provided.
Voluntary Critical Illness
This is an Optional Plan providing a tax-free lump sum benefit that can be offered to employees to purchase on their own or an employer can elect to provide it to everyone. People are living longer lives and advances in medical science have resulted in a greater number of people surviving illnesses that were once fatal. Having survived a critical illness, many are unable to swiftly return to work and are in need of special care. Coverage is now available to provide financial assistance for such expenses. Resilience is the extra help people sometimes need to cope with life's challenges. Resilience combines confidential counselling (person-to-person, via telephone, or via secure Internet chat room) as well as self-directed online resources that support both employees and managers alike.
